Hi Gang…
As promised earlier, I’ll show “more” and talk “less” about each of the cars that appeared at the Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours d’ Elegance on August 28th, 2011. Click here to read more about the success of vintage ‘glass at the Milwaukee Masterpiece.
One of the high points of the Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours d’Elegance was a short interview with Merrill Powell from Victress given on stage on late Sunday morning. As the interviewer, I had a few prepared questions, but how we started was in grand style.
Steve Steers graciously offered to shuttle Merrill to the stage in his beautiful Victress S1A sports car. What was said that day will be held in the highest of confidence from times ever fiberlasting. But the pictures….we can share them now.
Here we go!!!

my best friends dad had a victress, we used to sit on milk crates while we drove it. I never realized at the time we were driving a piece of history. it had a ford flathead in it,wow! Does anybody know how many were built?, I heard they used to race them on the salt flats, which makes sense we lived a short distance from el mirage dry lake in southern california.
Beautiful Victress S-1A
It was great to have a ride again in Steve’s beautiful S-1A, probably the best Victress ever built. And the Milwaukee Masterpiece was the perfect setting for the biggest get-together of show-quality fiberglass cars ever held, thanks to Leon Flagg and our modest webmaster.
