11 Foreword It ’ s been a long road for all of us—nearly 70 years to debut this car—but what an adventure it has been: • From Jerry Gardner starting his dream to design and built a car in 1952 when he was just 18 years old • For Jerry being able to keep his dream inside and protected for nearly 50+ years of his life • To us finding the Voodoo on eBay in 2011 and embracing Jerry ’ s dream of bringing it to reality • To the good luck of finding a family as dedicated to completing this dream as we were —Brian and Sue Ford of Christchurch, New Zealand • To the skills and abilities of our restoration teams who brought the dream to reality for all involved There were the normal obstacles, big and small, in getting this car done.
