The 1954 Allard Clipper

62 Geoff...a bit more information about me: My hobby is about the cars I worked on - 1930 - through 1959. After those years, all cars are now about the same. (although since about 2010 they are getting different again). At age 15 I started as a “fitter’s boy” in a old garage where they/I worked on the old cars folks had put up on blocks since petrol got short, just before the start of the war in 1939. Most were late ‘20s up to about 1937. No parts were available and the clever old blokes I worked for could make anything/everything in their ancient machine/ blacksmiths shop. Ah, those were the days – when men were men, and cars were cars. They were all different (both cars and men, come to think of it). None of the jellybean and shoebox shaped cars of today with their throwaway parts and “mechanics” who only replace parts and have no idea how to fix them. Now you know...
