91 Undiscovered Classics Community and Social Media From the start, Undiscovered Classics has been a group effort—one that has expanded across the world. We ’ ve created a community that includes enthusiasts, owners, restorers, historians, friends and more. In addition, we ’ ve put many families back together with the cars that their husband, father, brother, etc built back so long ago. When we bring together the families with their cars, there is often an emotional connection that most people would be surprised to see. The reason for this, family members have told me over and over, is that when one person builds a car—or a small team of people—the project, car, goal and everything around it becomes a very strong part of the family heritage. And when the family is reconnected with a car they thought lost 50+ years ago, all of those memories come flooding back—a strong emotional response of when the car was built, what the family had to endure, the fun times they had and more. The Undiscovered Classics community has also expanded each year led by our website and Facebook interfaces. This allows us to communicate and stay in contact world - wide. But the best part of the community that we ’ ve created is the part that allows us to meet our Undiscovered Classics family and friends who join us each year in celebrating the cars at shows we attend. Mick Walsh, International Editor for Classic & Sports Car Magazine (UK) pointed out to me that we always have an “ entourage ” with us at every concours we attend. If you change the word “ entourage ” to “ family ” I would heartily agree.
