106 One of our favorite cars is our aluminum - bodied 1937 Gougeon Streamliner—a “ car of the future ” built in the late 1930s and kept by the family that built it until the passing of the designer/builder Ronald Gougeon. The above photo was taken at a special one - day show in Norwalk , Connecticut in 2019. The teardrop streamliners of the late 1920s and early 1930s are exceedingly rare, and we ’ re fortunate to have two examples of these special vehicles in our collection. The mechanical and structural restoration has been completed on the Gougeon—next is the body and interior. Not easy steps even for us, but each restoration of an Undiscovered Classics car puts more history, diversity, interest and excitement back into the hobby—a win for all. Watch for this car and its completed restoration soon.
