127 Music Videos, Merchandising and Celebration When we debut a handcrafted car and its history, it is a very special occasion to us. We think of it as a celebration and a reintroduction of the car, its history and the family that built it with the larger automotive community across the world. So we do things differently than most automotive restoration companies—we have fun and celebrate the car ’ s debut—with the public. And...much to our great pleasure, people have noticed. Graham Kozak of Autoweek recently reflected on one of our restoration projects—the Leo Lyons Custom Mercury. Graham covered this project in a series of 10+ stories from our acquisition through restoration and the debut at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d ’ Elegance. In the last story about the car, he talked about our Undiscovered Classics restoration process and shared the following: “ If you do end up with something special (a special car), Hacker ’ s model is one that you ’ d do well to emulate. Their objective is to make the whole process engaging and informative and maybe even fun — not something you usually say about a stranger ’ s car restoration. They would have succeeded even if they hadn ’ t let me hop behind the wheel the morning of the concours ”. We think of cars as art—something to be celebrated, appreciated, and not forgotten. So depending on the car that is being restored and the situation at hand, we can be a little—or a lot—creative. Sometimes this involves creating a book and other support materials for a show. Other times it involves creating some fun merchandising pieces. We ’ ve even created music videos that help rollout the debut of a car at a concours or exhibition. Our first music video was for the debut of the 1950 Leo Lyons Custom Mercury at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d ’ Elegance. Our second video was for the 1952 Manta Ray when it was presented at the 2016 Amelia Island Concours d ’ Elegance. You can click and view these videos on the pages here. But we ’ ve done more. We ’ ve created art cards which are handouts with basic information and photographs of the car. We ’ ve also created keychains, bumper stickers, business cards, artwork, renderings, banners, embroidered shirts, magnetic door signs, scale models, caricatures, posters and more. We ’ ve always felt that if you take the time and resources to restore and share an important car with the public, then you should celebrate the car with them in more ways than one.
