47 My father, mother and I had a family vacation to Europe in the 1960’s. We stayed near Cologne/Koln in Germany. The Cathedral was largely intact after allied bombing raids flatten much of the city, as shown in the photograph above. My father pointed out that precision bombing was responsible for missing the Cathedral.
